Title
Texts for Nothing autograph drafts in notebook
Subject
Beckett, Samuel. 1906-1989
Description
First published in English in No's Knife: Collected Shorter Prose, 1945-1966, this fiction, along with the novel trilogy, came to be recognized as a milestone in the literary shift from modernism to postmodernism.
Using this notebook, Beckett translated his thirteen story fragments of different voices thrust into the unknown, originally written fifteen years earlier in French, as Textes pour rien. A number of pages have strike-throughs, showing how he struggled with the translation.
