Description

'Ene ha-'Edah is a collection of commentaries on Talmud Kiddushin, Talmud Bava batra, and Talmud Niddah. It includes contributions from Isaiah ben Mali di Trani (c. 1200), Yom Tov ben Avraham Ishbili (c. 1270-1342), Ibn Migash, Joseph ben Meir ha-Levi (1077-1141), and Nissim ben Reuben Gerondi (c.1310-1375).

Eleazar Loew (1758-1837) made additions to 'Ene-ha'Edah, and Carolus Fischer (1755-1844) was the censor and translator.  Fischer was a Christian Hebraist and librarian of Prague University and beginning in 1788, he served as a government-appointed censor of Hebrew books and as translator.

This copy has a hebrew inscription on the title page [pertaining to the Hasidic community of Vienna; chiefly illegible].
