Description
Sefer Lev David was written by Hayyim Yosef David Azulai ben Isaac Zerachia (in Hebrew: חיים יוסף דוד אזולאי), commonly known as the Hida (by the acronym of his name, חיד"א). Born and educated in Jerusalem, Azulai was a rabbinical scholar, noted bibliophile, and pioneer in the publication of Jewish religious writings.
Sefer Lev David is a book of Jewish ethics ("musar"). This copy was published in Ziṭamir, Ukraine, in 1868. It contains two inscriptions, both only partially deciphered.
First inscription:
קשרש והוש לכבוד צורו תכולש הושתך וולין
Second inscription:
זה הספר שייך המ[]הר וולין כשר לייש תבול מן [] בעל []בוסרותייב עלה [] ש
