This is the bookstamp of Adolf Rosenzweig (1850-1918), a German rabbi and author.
Rosenzweig was educated at the gymnasium at Budapest and later at the rabbinical seminary of Pressburg. Upon completing his studies, Rosenzweig went to Berlin to study philosophy and Oriental languages and literature at the university there. He simultaneously studied theology at the Hochschule für die Wissenschaft des Judentums. He served as rabbi in Pasewalk, Posen and Teplitz before being called to Berlin in 1887.
Rosenzweig was known for his skills as a preacher. He was also a prolific author on history and archaeology. He served as rabbi in Berlin until his death in 1918. He is buried there.
