Description

This is the stamped book cover of Benjamin Aron de Metz (also Benjamin Wolf Aron de Metz Maarsen), who was born in Amsterdam in 1760.

He was the son of Aron Maharam David de Mets Maarsen and Bele David Frankfort. He married Marianne Leon Keijzer in 1783. He was naturalized on December 11th, 1811 in Amsterdam and assumed the last name “de Metz.” At the time of his naturalization, de Metz was living at Zwanenburgerstr. 16 with five sons and five daughters. He died on 28 April 1832 in Amsterdam.

He embossed this book cover on one side with his name in Dutch (Benjamin Aron de Metz) and one the other side with his name in Hebrew (Wolf ben Maharam de Mets).
