Typescript draft of "The Heyday of the Player Piano" by William Gaddis, January 13, 1947. While working as a fact-checker for The New Yorker (1945-1946), Gaddis became interested in the player piano, the subject of an article he was assigned. After finishing the assignment, Gaddis decided to write something on his own on the topic, resulting in the posthumously published Agapē Agape, in 2002.
