On pp. [3-5] are various country scenes drawn by Eugene Kerber, including a cart being pulled by a horse down a country lane, people fishing, men and dogs hunting, and farmers threshing wheat.

P. [2] has an advertisement for "I'm going back to old Missouri" and "Amorosa waltzes". It also includes a letter extolling the virtues of a home instruction course teaching short-hand and typing.

P. [6] includes advertising matter for the Monarch Light Touch Typewriter sold by the Monarch Typewriter Company, 808 Pine Street, St. Louis, Mo.
