The life of a sportsman

Dublin Core

Title

The life of a sportsman

Description

This volume is considered by many to be the finest colored plate sporting book of the nineteenth century. The text and illustrations give an imaginary biography of a typical English Master of Hounds. Alken drew and etched the thirty-six plates himself, which were then colored by hand.
