Description
Allen Tate to Isabella Gardner, September 23, 1958. He wrote a 22 page letter to her over the span of 4 days. Tate tells Gardner that he is full of love for her. He received her letter as he boarded the ship. Tate enjoyed hearing the sound of Gardner's voice when she called him on the ship. He says that if she leaves Bob within a year, both of them will be free to be together. He misses her. Tate tells Gardner about his travel schedule. Once he returns to Minneapolis, he will marry her as soon as she thinks it is proper. He worries about her family's reaction to them being together. He daydreams of her and tells her that she is the love of his life. He gives her details of his daily schedule on board the ship. Tate informs Gardner that he has written a letter to Katherine to tell her about the way both Gardner and he feel. He says that he is anxious about getting through the next 2 1/2 months without seeing her.
