Elizabeth Bishop to May Swenson, October 3, 1963. Bishop tells Swenson that both she and Lota had bouts of illness recently. Bishop went to a hospital to recuperate and she sent some of the information given to her from the hospital on a card. Bishop congratulates Swenson on her success and thanks her for sending a hard copy of her book. She gives Swenson updates on her professional activities and asks that Swenson send her more blues records. Bishop says that she will soon have the governor over for dinner and that she is nervous.
