Description
Meeting Sylvia Plath at Yaddo. Swenson mentions that she met Plath at Yaddo in the fall of 1959. She went to dinner at the home Plath shared with Ted Hughes. Plath was in bed ,ill and pregnant, so Swenson met her at her bedside. They had a quick introduction before Plath became tired. It was there in Yaddo that Swenson discovered that Plath had been assembling her first selection of written poems. Swenson says that she barely knew who Plath was at the time nor could she have known what wide impact her poetry would make.
