Gass as Photographer
Similar to his keen ability to capture the rhythm and profundity of words on a page, Gass can catch the essential patterns and designs of structures and objects with a camera. His subjects are both man-made and of the natural world, and are almost always devoid of people. Over the years, Gass has incorporated numerous sets of slides into his lectures and readings, presenting them at schools of architecture, art institutes, museums, and other places across the country. He has published his photographs in magazines and newspapers, and held two showings in art galleries.
