This book describes the experience of the Bosnian refugee community in St. Louis, utilizing hand-printed imagery and excerpts from conversations held with three young Bosnian immigrants. The book begins with a brief history of the war and genocide in Bosnia and followed by the story of the migration of refugees to St. Louis. Words are used sparsely and pointedly to address the balancing act of retaining ethnic identity and memories while integrating into American culture.
