This is the signature of Rabbi Yitzhak (Isaac, also Ayzik) Berlin (1792 or 93-1865), a rabbi and scholar from Hamburg, Germany. He was born to Rabbi Lase Heilbut of Berlin and Mindell Heilbut. He and his wife, Fanny, had as many as 13 children.

Berlin is known for his edits and additions to Rabbi Binyamin Ze'ev Wolff's Ashkenazi Mahzor. He also published his own works.

Berlin's signature appears in a number of books in the Brisman collection. His signature is usually followed by the Hebrew date.
