Description

Title Description - In Meador's latest work, he travels in northernmost Russia to the White Sea near the Arctic Circle to the Solovetski Monastery that became the first GULAG. The story is super-saturated as are the tints of the photographs that are printed full-page. Text appears to wander down stairs and through doors building the story of place as "a monument that exists in the mind of the reader." References: Art on Paper. 29 June 2008 (printedmatter.org).

Catalog record.

Physical Description - Trade case/smythe sewn. Offset lithography, printed by the artist in 30 colors of ink.
